Has the Merch In Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Lost its Magic: Concepts on How Disney Can Better Sell Souvenirs From A Galaxy Far Far Away…

The last time I was in BSO(Black Spire Outpost), I came to notice that many of the items within the outpost ironically seemed to be in the wrong place. This is mainly due to the unfortunate (unadmited) failure of the (Beloved by me and Fans) Galactic Star Cruiser, and its merch that now currently dominates the shelves across DHS(Disney’s Hollywood Studios), and Galaxy’s Edge. Resistance Supply has Smugglers run Merch, Boba Fett and Mandalorian Gear is being sold behind the Games Table, and Rey and Kylo Ren's outfits are taking up space within Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. While one could argue that I am off about this, I would disagree, as a longtime, die hard Star Wars Fanboy who is true to Canon and Galaxy’s Edge’s place in Canon. In this Article I would like to discuss ways to improve the sales of Star Wars Merch within Galaxy’s Edge including ways Disney could better push these items.

The Smugglers Run Merch Outside Rise of the Resistance?

As many visitors may note, for some reason(at least on Batuu East) all of the Millenium Falcon Smugglers Run Merch is being sold at Resistance Supply. While i understand that there are limited supply on what can be put on the shelves in that area, when Galaxys Edge first opened the Resistance Merch was alot more Resistance, without nods to other attractions. As a person who thinks Canon, and LARPs in Galaxy’s Edge, this is a strange place to put Millenium Falcon Merch.

The concept I wish to discuss is to perhaps create a new Kiosk/Cart Stand on the right side of the left side of the Millenium Falcon behind Ogas in that area just right of the extended Smugglers Run Cue, where the Han Solo Vest and Shirt, as well as the other Smugglers run Merch can be sold, as well as any other items relating to Scum and Villainy, given that Oga’s Cantina is right nextdoor to this location.

The what of the Open Shelves at Resistance Supply?

Well the answer to that question is simple, currently at Dok Ondar Den of Antiquities, they currently Sell A rey Outfit and Rey Lightsabers, as well as limited Resistance Merch. Lets move the Rey and Resistance Merch from Dok Ondars to Resistance Supply to replace the items lost by creating Smugglers run its own Merch Stand. The area in Dok Ondar’s Can then be replaced with Jedi Training equipment including the Lightsheilds from the Halcyon that are currently being sold at Keystone Clothiers outside of Galaxy’s Edge.

If Rey isn’t in Dok Ondars, then Kylo has to go Too.

With the moving of the Rey Outfit from Dok Ondars being moved to Resistance Supply, the Kylo Ren outfit and sabers will be moved to First Order Cargo, and will be replaced in Dok Ondars by the Boba Fett and Mandalorian Merch that currently sits behind the Games Table, and the costuming Items from the Halcyon that currently inhabit Black Spire Outfitters.

But now whats going on the Games table shelfs?

If this isn’t obvious enough Games, not just any Games but the Games played in BSO. Both Games of Sabacc, The Halcyon Version(Coruscant Shift) and the BSO version(Corellian Spike) and they should be playable with Cast Members at this table to upsell these games, which in my opinion should be doing better. To further sell I would build two more of these Carts to play table top games on just outside the outpost in the area where Din Jarin(The Mandalorian) and Grogu(The Child/Baby Yoda) meet guests in that seating area to provide more opportunity to more guests to play games such as both versions of Sabaac and Dejarik(holochess), which can use the sales boost.

What about the other Halcyon Merch in Keystone Clothiers?

Why not move the Engineering items and the SK-62O items to Droid Depot as engineering and droid making go hand in hand in star wars, and as for the rest of the items move them to Jewels of Bith, moving the outfit items(Hats, Scarfs/head coverings/Bags) to Black Spire Outfitters, as it fits their brand better anyways. It is my opinion that all Immersive Star Wars Merch should be sold In Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, but it just needs to be sold in the right place that makes sense, not only to fans but to Guests. DHS has more to gain by moving around this merch to areas that make more sense to sell these items than where they are currently featured, but this can all only be done, if they put another Kiosk behind Oga’s next to Millenium Falcon and build more gaming Cart Tables.
