To my readers,
While many of you have possibly learned yesterday through the Mainstream Media, the Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World in Florida, has closed. While this saddens me that I never got to nor ever will get to experience this, I am actually hopeful for what this can become, following its closing in September of 2023. As many of you know the GSC has been an obsession of mine, a dream and fantasy since before it opened and for a die hard fanboy like me and my friends not to be able to experience it at least once due to its price range I am saddened to see it go. However, I have hope that Disney, Hasn’t given up on the concept of a Star Wars Hotel. It has been speculated by me ,that this experience will be re-themed and either made an additional attraction for Star Wars Galaxy’s edge or, it will expand upon to increase capacity and lower the price for the experience that many still wish to voyage on but never got the chance.
I am asking Disney not to give up but rather shut it down to refurbish, expand and bring it to a price point between 2,000- 4,000 for 3 nights rather than the current 6000-12,000 for 2. I am giving up my final Idea to fix the star cruiser, If they(Disney) created between 7 and 10 star cruiser experiences with a total of 700-1000 rooms total with a shared staff for all of the cruisers across the experience they will not only be able to lower the price and capitalize on the GSC where they failed earlier but theoretically also be able to sustain it.
While the OG Trilogy purest and the Disney haters are celebrating, I haven't given up hope for Disney’s GSC. I personally will be moving to Central FL soon and have hopes of buying an annual pass so that I may visit my favorite spaces in Black Spire Outpost, and live Star Wars. the problem isn’t that there isn’t demand, the problem is and always will be “Bidenflation'' , the $6000-$10,000 cost, the size of the rooms and the capacity aboard each voyage. While many have criticized that the world just wasn’t ready for such an immersive experience, I would argue the world is ready for it but the price needs to be right given the current state of the country.
While this isn’t a political article, I will stand by my thought that if Inflation wasn’t happening and the price was lower by 50% Disney would’ve never needed to shut down this experience and I would have personally already gone 1 or 2 times already with my friends.with that i end this article with hope.
As they say at Black Spire Outpost,
“Til the Spire”
