Speculation: What Bob Iger’s Statement on Price Accessibility in The Disney Parks Can Mean For The Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser?
At the time of writing this article Bob Iger CEO of Disney has explicitly stated that Disney may be getting “too aggressive” in regards to the massive price hikes and current prices of experiences in the Disney Parks. What this could mean in the future for Disney Parks is a new strategy marketed towards inclusivity and “accessibility” especially for the Single Income No Kid’s Demographic(SINK’s) who we mention constantly on this blog(people like me and my friends). Disney currently has priced out most of its guests and while i have offered solutions in the past aimed towards The STAR WARS GALACTIC STAR CRUISER experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I am excited to see where this goes in furthering the success of the parks in the next two years to come.
Iger,as usual, obviously listens to fans and the bad press they have been receiving in regards to their price hikes, and while his soul focus for the time being may be Disney+, which continues to exceed my own expectations, time and time again with its content, especially in the category of Star Wars. Iger also seems to be focused on the park prices being too expensive as many have complained over the last few years under his predecessor and replacement Bob Chapek’s control. Iger obviously wants to return to a place where his parks are succeeding and the television and film industries pay for the parks and then the parks return their investment, just as Disney has for years, where as Chapek seemed to aim towards positioning the Parks to support Disney+, The Film Studios and Television Networks under his administration.
What I believe this means in regards to the Disney Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser, is obvious, Iger is aiming the company towards a focus on lowering all prices in the parks and that will eventually include the Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser under this umbrella. This connection is drawn as this conversation about price increases comes only days after the announcement by Disney that they will be cutting back on voyages rather than prices, as many articles criticized, but as usual these other journalists don’t seem to see the millions of possibilities of where Disney could be going with every decision made. In a previously published article, I wrote how a Florida Resident Discount and Annual Pass Discount could be announced soon for the Galactic Star Cruiser and as it has become my soul focus, I can see the larger picture by connecting the dots about what Iger may be hinting at for the future of pricing in Disney Parks. Hopefully these decreases in pricing, effect the Star Cruiser,as I am speculating, as it would boost the experience’s life span and help those like myself who wish to take voyages but as Iger mentioned aren’t accessible due to the current prices, but only time will tell.
